The tops

Part of the idea behind this top was an observation from many years of doing made-to-measure orders in the thicker fleece jackets (which were the original range from Feeline Clothing) that many women, who weren’t happy with their figure, wanted to buy clothes much too big in order to hide their shape and perceived unwanted bulges.. Resulting in a badly fitting and unflattering piece of clothing.

I found it was important to design individual garments, made-to-measure, fitting well around the shoulders, armpits, and upper body, without being figure hugging elsewhere. Both the top and the cardigan/jacket are designed to be thoroughly accommodating of this whilst still fitting well and flattering the figure, whatever its shape and size. With nicely fitting shoulders and top half, it flares out gently from above the waist, to avoid clinging to tummy and hips. My experience over the many years of making these styles as bespoke orders for individuals, is that the design is successful for this!

The cardigans/jackets

This style was a natural progression from the top above. More versatile in some ways, with a front zip opening, meaning it can be worn as a cardigan or summer jacket. Something very useful about this fine fleece – used throughout the Feeline range – is its easy care in terms of not needing ironing and drying quickly; helpful when needing a summer jacket or cardigan for when the clouds head in or in the evening on a day out, but not worn all the time.

inspiration

Inspiration from the beauty around us can bring colour to our lives in many ways. Feeling the beauty of a sunset or dappled sunlight through leaves in a woodland, or the lush mossy damp carpet on a tree trunk by a steam, enlivens and energises, gifts from nature whenever we choose to watch and listen..
