The mittens
After a couple of decades making garments, regular customers kept asking about fingerless gloves. They had come into fashion more and everyone seemed to be wearing them..
Having found shop bought traditional knitted fingerless gloves too bulky between the fingers whilst sewing, even though loving the benefit of keeping wrists and hands warm whilst still keeping the fingers free, which is needed for many activities, i gave it a go, spurred on by my customers..
After the usual trial and error with prototypes, the first style, the original mitten in the Feeline range came about. Since then successive styles have evolved one after the other, often inspired by comments and suggestions from customers.
I love this co-creative process when it occurs.

The scarves/shawls
After a few years of making mittens, it was another suggestion from a customer, asking if i made wraps (i didn’t even know what a wrap was!) which inspired me to make the second accessory in the range.
A thoroughly versatile and useful item. I had not really been much of a scarf wearer, and certainly not shawls or wraps, i discovered though their essential nature and am now not often without one, whatever the season!
Such versatility in one item is impressive.
Much more about these on the accessories page, and the scarves/shawls page.

The original nature top
This garment was the first in the range of styles after a direct inspiration from nature came into my work. The use of ‘inserts’ like this became a trade mark feature of Feeline designs from then on.
The first prototype was connected to ferns, using a selection of the dyed greens available at the time, i played around with hues, thin lengths of various offcuts, generally enjoying an opportunity to mess around with colours and textures, deep in a creative process for a few days, and the result was the first top!

The nature top jacket
This style was a progression from the top. It has a zip front opening, and either a hood or collar.
It can be used as a cardigan or a summer jacket, and is designed to be worn over a top, any top.
It has the same features as the top, using inserts to create its shape and colour combination. It is though longer, whilst still featuring the gentle downwards curve on the back hem, making it slightly longer than at the front, which is both flattering and elegant.
